How does it work?
Children are all born into this world as a big bright shining diamond, completely whole, radiant and pure. They all have unlimited potential. But through the course of life, unresolved hurts, moments of failure and emotional shutdowns become like lampshades that cover up that diamond. A Junior or Teen Journey Process is a fast track way of removing that veil and allowing your child to shine.
A Junior and Teen Journey Process is a guided visualisation that allows your child to access emotions, beliefs and behavioural patterns in a fun, gentle and supportive environment. Processing gets access to the issue at the core and quickly removes it.
A Junior Journey Process is for children aged between 6 – 12 years and the appointment lasts around 60 minutes. A Teen Journey Process is for 13 to 16 years and the appointment lasts around 90 minutes.
Helena’s experience working with children and teens
Helena is able to connect with children of all ages after working as a teacher with 10 years experience teaching classes and grades from Prep to Year 7 and Physical Education.
Helena is a former Primary School Teacher and along with her Bachelor of Learning Management (with Distinction) she also has a post-graduate degree in Early Childhood Development. Helena used many these tools in her final year of teaching 11 and 12 year olds. She applied these tools to a class with a majority of high energy boys, who had in the previous year, been challenging and suspended at various times. Packaging these tools up as Leadership Skills, the class turned around in that final year. Their self-esteem grew, they respected each other in the class and there were no suspensions. They confidently took risks with their learning and as a result they became respected by staff and their peers. For the students, the biggest reward was the fact that their report card grades improved from Semester 1 to Semester 2.
Helena’s passion for working with children stems from her childhood
Helena grew up on a farm with a severely depressed and paranoid mother and two abusive grandfathers. Her father, who was her rock, was never home. At 10 the bullying started and her only safe place, school, was taken away. At 12 she decided to ‘test and measure’ what was wrong her because she wanted to know what it was so she could change in the hope that her mother and the girls at school might like her again. After a few months of testing and trying to figure out what it was about her that everyone hated, she had no answers. She couldn’t figure it out.
Then it dawned on her. It wasn’t anything she was doing or saying, it was her. She then knew was perpetually flawed and always would be. That realization led her down a path of hiding herself. She hid behind every mask hoping no one would figure out that she was not good enough. She stopped making friends and disappeared into herself. From 12 onwards her self-esteem crumbled and by 16 she was a walking shell. She knows the difference these tools would have made to her had she had access to them.
